Come join the team at Kaytee in Pottsville PA, where you have the opportunity to work with products for wild birds. We are currently in need of a Warehouse Supervisor in our Pottsville, PA warehouse. This position is responsible for overseeing our 120,000-square-foot distribution center. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs and coordinates activities of 10 to 15 direct reports related to the storage and shipment of finished goods located at the Pottsville Service Center.
- Plans daily warehouse operations, establishing priorities and sequences for shipment of products to customers through planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Ensures the safety of all employees is a top priority. Committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to all safety regulations, conducting regular safety training, and promptly addressing any hazards or incidents. Fosters a culture of safety where each team member takes responsibility for their well-being and that of their colleagues.
- Addresses employee concerns and escalates unresolved matters to Human Resources for further action.
- Conduct Forklift Certification with new hires. Classroom and driver training in accordance with Company Policies and OSHA requirements
- Oversees inspection of warehouse machines and equipment to ensure operational performance, safety, and proper utilization.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, and appraising performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of Supervisory experience in Warehousing/Distribution.
- 3 to 5 years of Warehouse Management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- SAP experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to inspire and encourage staff; fosters a positive work environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment where personal protective equipment is required (steel toe shoes, safety glasses) are required. The incumbent is expected to lead by example and follow all required Area Safety Work Practices.
