Position: Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities and personnel in the warehouse, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety, quality, and organizational standards. This role plays a crucial part in managing inventory, overseeing shipments, and maintaining a well-organized and clean warehouse environment The supervisor will coordinate with various departments to optimize inventory levels, minimize waste, and ensure the timely availability of materials to support operational needs. This role will work closely with all departments of Capricor Therapeutics to ensure continuous production and testing of drug products in a cGMP-compliant workspace.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide material handlers. Foster a cohesive team environment and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products. Ensure that all goods are handled safely and securely.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits. Coordinate with procurement and production teams to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety awareness among warehouse staff.
- Oversee the inspection of incoming and outgoing goods. Ensure that products meet quality standards before shipment.
- Perform physical inventory management to ensure continuous production of drug products
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipping/receiving documentation, and warehouse activities. Generate reports as needed.
- Initiate deviations and complete investigations regarding non-conforming products.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and material usage. Ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
- Work with the electronic and paper-based inventory system to manage the receipt, release, packaging, and shipment of GMP materials
- Perform disposition of all expired materials and maintain applicable documentation
- Monitor temperature conditions of refrigerators, freezers, and room temperature storage of cGMP materials, including responding to alarms (on-call), as necessary
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in warehouse operations. Implement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Source and maintain necessary quality documents for the release of critical materials
- Maintain a library of material specs, forms, and other materials documents
- Perform data analysis, and organize records, reports, and databases promptly
- Work under minimal supervision to meet project goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, and/or minimum 3 years related experience in a regulated materials management environment in a biotech or life sciences environment
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management, and inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Effective leadership and communication skills. Ability to motivate and coach a diverse team.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to adjust to workload in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently with little or no supervision of day-to-day tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with Inventory Management Systems/ERP
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds to waist height and up to 40 pounds to shoulder height
