We want YOU to join our industry-leading non-hazardous liquid waste team in Houston Texas. We are seeking a leader and a change-agent for our operation in Houston as Plant Manager. This is a full-time, permanent career that requires a hands-on, lead-by-example individual to drive the day-to-day operations of our wastewater facility.
You will be ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. This role oversees sampling and testing systems, and the functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and develop the plant operations team
- Manage team schedules and work
- Conduct performance evaluations and handle disciplinary actions
- Oversee biosolids program and laboratory activities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all plant services and activities
- Direct staff in operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant
- Ensure wastewater quality meets regulatory standards
- Monitor operations for compliance and address violations
- Set productivity goals and manage costs
- Procure necessary supplies and equipment
- Implement safety and accident prevention programs
- Plan and assign tasks to staff
- Foster a positive workplace culture through communication and training
- Oversee plant maintenance and appearance
- Ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations
- Recommend and implement operational improvements
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports
- Liaise between construction and daily operations
Minimum Requirements:
- Education and/or Professional Designation: High school graduate or equivalent; BS/BA degree preferred; Wastewater Operator License (MSWB) or MSWA TCEQ license required
- Experience: 5+ years in management/supervisory roles; 8+ years as a wastewater plant manager; experience in the liquid waste industry preferred
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment, safety regulations, federal/state/local laws; strong interpersonal skills; ability to analyze and solve problems; effective leadership and training abilities
