Join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Operator III, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing water treatment facilities. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you'll conduct essential technical and mechanical tasks, ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of treatment and conveyance facilities. Your responsibilities will extend to daily operations, training initiatives, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. - Collaborate with the operations team to execute daily tasks, including operation, maintenance, and repairs, while adhering to standard operating procedures
- Provide training to Operators on equipment, instruments, microbiology, plant process control, and safety equipment operations
- Engage in administrative duties, writing plant directives, recommending process improvements, and exploring new treatment technologies
- Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering open communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Adhere to industry safety standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Execute routine and emergency operational, maintenance, construction, and repair functions, prioritizing tasks in the field
- Conduct daily inspections of wastewater treatment facilities, aquifer recharge facilities, and related equipment
- Respond to operational emergencies as required, potentially involving on-call and shift work
- Provide technical and physical assistance to operations personnel, contractors, and developers
- Assist customers with water-related concerns, ensuring quality, delivery, and addressing odors and vector control
- Coordinate all work efforts within the framework of company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Offer direction to peers and subordinates in routine day-to-day work activities
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
- 5+ years' experience in plumbing, well operation, distribution, collection water, and/or wastewater treatment
- Minimum 12 months experience as a field Operator II or equivalent
- ADEQ Grade 3 Operator License in Wastewater Treatment required
- Specialized knowledge of wells, pumps, motors, chlorine generators, plumbing principles, and utility improvements
- Valid driver's license, and CDL may be required
- Ability to read maps, manuals, blueprints, and perform general math calculations
- Strong written communication skills for documenting daily records and reports
- Ability to provide occasional direction to co-workers in the absence of Senior Operator or Supervisor
- Analytical judgment and decision-making abilities in varied work situations
