A local manufacturing company is seeking waste water treatment operators to join their team!
Hours are first shift, Monday - Friday (with occasional Saturdays as business needs dictate), 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Job Summary:
- To perform all aspects of waste water treatment processes
Phone screen and on-site interview with General Manager and Operations Manager will be done.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
Wastewater Treatment Operator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of waste water treatment processes including but not limited to tanker unloading, waste water treatment, chemical additions, sampling, reporting and completing inspections.
- Collect and document samples and perform a variety of routine water quality laboratory tests; work closely with laboratory vendors; monitor laboratory results; collect water samples as required.
- Performs duties in support of other Environmental programs.
- Complies with all Health & Safety requirements and goals.
- Performs all daily tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Sweeps and washes floors; empties trash; cleans locker room; rest rooms, and cafeteria; and other related custodial duties in plant and office.
- Uses applicable tools and equipment.
- Assists in maintenance tasks as directed.
- Trains and assists in limited hazardous waste activities.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.
Physical Requirements:
- Needs to use hands and feet to be able to put on Personal Protection Equipment including goggles, boots and gloves.
- Needs to be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to be on feet 80-90% of time. This includes walking and crouching.
- Required to wear a respirator.
Preferred Skills:
- Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Six months to two years’ experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment.
- Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
- Must demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Organizational and housekeeping skills
