Position Summary:
Safety is paramount in everything we do. This role is part of the Water Park and Water Quality team, which is
an integral part of our Technical Services department. As a member of the facilities team, you will play a
major role in the success of our resort and have one of the most important responsibilities throughout the
park. You must always provide and guarantee a fun and safe environment for our guests with a focus on
safety, ensuring that our equipment and buildings are inspected, maintained, and repaired to the highest
levels possible. Takes ownership in maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and operation of the
facilities under his or her responsibility. As a Water Park-Quality Tech you’ll inspect, repair and troubleshoot all
aspects in water quality resort wide. Accountable for ensuring safe and efficient Resort operations with
regards to water quality and water attractions assuring they are maintained and kept to the highest
standards. Responsible for, but not limited to, all day-to-day water quality park wide.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, operating, repairing and maintaining motors/pumps, slides, and pools resort wide.
- Maintains water quality of all pools and water attractions resort wide.
- Executes preventative maintenance, including daily inspections, periodic inspections as per the agreed internal schedules, inspections, installations and emergency repair strategies.
- Acts as a technical liaison between all departments.
- Keeps abreast of new methods and technologies to maximize opportunities throughout the Resort.
- Follow the LEGOLAND and Merlin established employee policies and procedures at all times. Maintains a high level of professional appearance, demeanour, ethics and image of self and subordinates. Promotes a high level of energy and motivation within the team.
- Safety of guests and employees, which includes all aspects of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), Polk County and loss prevention guidelines.
Physical Demands:
- Work in hard to access areas such as uneven terrain and confined spaces.
- Requires the use of safety goggles, gloves, ear plugs, respiratory devices and all other PPE when appropriate.
- Frequent lifting of moderate to heavy loads (25 – 70lbs). Required to lift and move loads with uneven weight distribution.
- Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.
- Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees.
- Hear with surrounding distracting noises. Noise level to possibly exceed 85 decibels.
- Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive.
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone.
- Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.
- Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.
- Hear with surrounding distracting noises.
- Work in extreme hot and cold conditions.
- Present in a neat, well-groomed professional manner.

- Considerable knowledge of different tools and equipment used to repair and maintain mechanical equipment.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends, to support resort operations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record.
- Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
Work Environment:
- Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
- Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
People:
Supervisors and employees will have consistent communication and meetings with this role (i.e. schedules, payroll, and training). Promote and demonstrate LEGO’s and Merlin’s culture and core values through words and actions. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, effectively managing and documenting employee relations.
Health & Safety:

They must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience:Background and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience water park maintenance and repair with knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and all aspects of water quality maintenance and equipment.
- Water Park maintenance experience including pool repair, pumps, flow meters and plumbing.
- Computer literacy.
- CPO Certified
Education:
High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is preferred; related coursework and certifications also preferred.
Pay Range:From USD $17.64/Hr.
