About the Job
Summary Objective
Under limited supervision, operates and maintains a variety of water treatment plant equipment and facilities on an assigned shift. Work involves proper operation and regulation of plant equipment so that end products meet the quality standards of the federal, state and county regulatory agencies and of the Utility Special District. Work includes operation of pumps, lime machines, and other related equipment; taking samples for laboratory analysis; taking and recording of meter readings at regular intervals; and adding chlorine and other chemicals to the raw water; and all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or vocational school graduate (Education will be verified), and two (2) years' experience in the operation of a water treatment plant, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid Florida driver's license is required.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection Water Treatment Plant Operator Class "C" license is required.
