Water Plant Operator/Water Plant Operator Trainee - City of Riviera Beach

Under limited supervision, operates and maintains a variety of water treatment plant equipment and facilities on an assigned shift. Work involves proper operation and regulation of plant equipment so that end products meet the quality standards of the federal, state and county regulatory agencies and of the Utility Special District. Work includes operation of pumps, lime machines, and other related equipment; taking samples for laboratory analysis; taking and recording of meter readings at regular intervals; and adding chlorine and other chemicals to the raw water; and all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma, GED or vocational school graduate, and two (2) years of experience in the operations of a water treatment plant or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A valid Florida driver's license is required.

Must possess and maintain a State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Water Treatment Plant Operator Class "C" license.
