Swim Lesson Instructor
Outdoor Aquatic Center Season begins early-May to early-September
Indoor Pool is open all year long
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum age 16 years
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the daily duties including but not limited to: teaching lessons, lesson preparation (includes planning, set-up & clean-up), customer service, facility upkeep and special events.
SUPERVISION:
The Instructors will report directly to the Pool Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Responsible, courteous, good communication skills, good work ethic and ability to work without close supervision, and works well with young children. Must possess a sense of pride and accomplishment with one's work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lessoning planning & teaching
- Create a lesson for assigned classes
- Have teaching equipment out prior to class & put away at the end
- Teach to certification standards
- Assess student's progress
- Provide an assessment of skills to participants and parents
- Give recommendations on proper class placement
- Fill out skills sheets
- Facility Upkeep
- Cleaning of facility & lock rooms
- Assist with special events and facility operations
- Communicate with other staff and customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Enforce facility policies and procedures
- Comply with City of Troy and County regulations and policies
- Any other related duties as assigned by supervisors
COMPENSATION:
Work hours are determined by pool operation hours
HOURS
Year Around- must be able to work 5 hours per week.
Summer Seasonal-must be able to work 12 hours per week.
STARTING SALARY: $14 /HR
