The Maintenance Technician Electrical/ Mechanical job is a core component for our maintenance forces and requires a trained and experienced individual. The Maintenance Technician Electrical / Mechanical performs all electrical / mechanical maintenance functions necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment using standard and specialized tools and equipment including mobile equipment, pendant and overhead cranes and forklifts. As a Maintenance Technician Electrical / Mechanical, you will install, maintain, repair, and operate a broad range of electrical / mechanical systems and electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment to maintain continuous operations.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge in electrical – Variable frequency drives (ABB / Vacon) – Soft starts (ABB) – Semicode relays – PLC (TIA Portal – Siemens) – Controls – Profinet cables
- Knowledge in Mechanical is a plus
- Generators 4160v / 480v is a plus
- Computer skills, Word, project, Excel – Learn our maintenance system (work order tracking, spare parts, inspections)
- Be able to open and close breakers and understand 100% the safety risk (4160v) (be willing)
- Be open for changes, covering vacations, working overtime as needed
- Training will be required, of course on the job and extra training will be offered.
- Work alongside with the Operations team, help them with any issues that may come up (fast thinker)
- Should be able to read and understand electrical drawings. Mechanical understanding is a plus however not mandatory.
- Be able to follow instructions by leads and or Supervisor
- Employee will be required to work alone and able to work with others.
- Employee will be required to have knowledge with a voltmeter and megger
- Have some knowledge in instrumentation (Pressure switches, Pressures transducers, Level sensors (static), loadcells.
- Work in various areas of the plant locations is required. Dependent upon the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
Preferred Skills:
- A minimum of 1 year of manufacturing and/or industrial experience (including relevant experience gained in military service) or equivalent education.
- This includes experience in any of the following: industrial electronics, motors and controls, schematics, and electrical power, print reading, computers and PLC’s, electronics, AC/DC theory, power, test instruments and instrumentation, electrical maintenance, commercial construction, and installation.
