Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Water/Utility Civil Engineer to manage and design projects involving water systems, wastewater systems, and utility infrastructure. You will lead project management efforts, working on projects from conception through design, permitting, and execution. This role focuses on hydraulic network analysis, system modeling, and collaboration with public and private sector clients.
You’ll have the opportunity to engage in civil engineering projects that impact public health and safety, working with a variety of municipal and industrial clients. This position offers a chance to lead high-impact projects and make a real difference in the community's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage civil engineering projects from concept to completion, including the preparation of plans, specifications, and contract documents for water/utility systems.
- Sanitary Engineering Design & Coordination: Design and coordinate sanitary engineering projects, including utilities, water storage tanks, and water and wastewater pumping stations, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Hydraulic Network Analysis: Utilize computer-assisted hydraulic network analysis and system modeling software to evaluate and improve water distribution and wastewater systems.
- Client Support & Collaboration: Provide engineering support for a diverse range of clients, including Industrial Authorities, Fire Departments, Hospitals, Public Health Departments, and Public Libraries, tailoring solutions to meet their unique needs.
- Permit Acquisition & Contract Administration: Oversee contract administration and ensure the timely acquisition of necessary State and Federal permits, ensuring all projects comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and government agencies to ensure the seamless delivery of projects within scope, budget, and time constraints.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License: Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Kentucky or have the ability to obtain registration within 6 months.
- Hydraulic Network Expertise: Proven experience with hydraulic network analysis and system modeling software, such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or EPANET, is essential.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working on sanitary engineering projects, water distribution systems, wastewater systems, and related utility infrastructure design.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience in preparing plans, specifications, and contract documents for water/utility engineering projects.
- Permit & Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with the acquisition of State and Federal permits and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing water systems and wastewater treatment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with public entities, industrial clients, and team members.
