General description
The Weaver is responsible for running weaving machines to produce quality products, while maintaining high efficiency, product output and a safe working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate up to 24 weaving machines;
- Creel, inspect fabric, clean machines, blow down, keep up with yarn for style changes;
- Recognize defects in the cloth produced as the machine is patrolled by using cycle weaving;
- Keep assigned weaving machines and surrounding area of the machine clean;
- Work together with previous and next shift's personnel;
- Produce first quality fabric while maintaining high efficiency;
- Perform the job safely in accordance with the JHA;
- Perform general housekeeping duties;
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills required
- Technical knowledge regarding running weaving machines
- Ability to lift up to 20-25lbs.
- Ability to walk and stand for 12 hours daily as it is a multiple machine assignment and requires stepping up and down on the weaving platform
- Ability to work in a hot and cold environment
- Excellent eyesight and ability to distinguish patterns, colors, and shades
- Ability to perform detailed tasks with minimal errors
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Self-starter mentality and strong work ethic
- Team player
- Communication skills
- Basic English speaking, writing and reading skills
- Basic arithmetic and computer skills
Experience
- Minimum of two years of previous experience operating weaving machines preferred
