American National is currently seeking a Programmer Analyst/Web Developer to join our team! The Application Development and Support team at American National Insurance is committed to providing training and development to high aptitude individuals to fill this position. The candidate will be working in the Agent Solutions department providing support and working on projects improving the experience for our agents.
Responsibilities
- Resolve problems in a production environment and extend functionality within current web and mobile based applications
- Develop new solutions and systems
- Understand how and when to incorporate technologies to provide the very best service in response to business needs
- Acquire and assimilate knowledge about current systems both to understand the relationship to business needs and objectives and to understand the dependencies between systems
- Design, develop, test and deploy Java web services and applications running on IBM WebSphere Application Server
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience in web-based software development environments
- Ideally experience developing single-page applications with Angular
- 2 + years of experience developing UI compenents in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with J2EE development preferred
- Experience with Javascript build tools preferred
- Bachelors’ degree in MIS, CIS or Computer Science preferred
- Strong written, verbal, customer service and analytical skills are necessary
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with constant change in a more than satisfactory manner
- Must be self-motivated, team-oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work occasional night and weekend hours when required. On call rotation is required.
Salary for this position can range from $116220.00 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $174310.50 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
