Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Chicago Public Schools (CPS) are part of the department of Early College and Career Education (ECCE) within the Office of Career and College Success (OCCS). CTE programs for CPS high schools serve 15K+ students across 70+ schools with the goal of enhancing student preparation for college and career success, as evidenced by increasing graduation rates, college enrollment rates, employment rates, and earning levels of CPS CTE students.
Job Summary:
TheWeb and Database Analyst (Part-Time/Temporary) role is a part-time/temporary position designed to assist with the maintenance and enhancement of the workbased learning cloud based software Salesforce. Salesforce is leveraged to capture student internship data, workbased learning opportunities and various touch points with internship partners. The analyst will also develop key reporting templates as well as provide analysis for critical academic readiness related projects as outlined in the Roadmap. The part-time analyst will report directly to the Roadmap Director.
The Web and Database Analyst (Part-Time/Temporary) will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Develop processes to strategically and systematically collect, archive, and report key postsecondary metrics in an accurate and timely manner, using automated processes where possible.
- Develop practical and clear reporting templates that reflect important trends for critical Roadmap outcomes/KPIs to various stakeholders.
- Serve as primary consultant for the Work-Based Learning team’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systemneeds.
- Analyze and visualize data on a project basis to enhance understanding of and usage by key stakeholders.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across Offices.
- Adhere to a set of guiding principles for analytic practice as established by the Data Governance Council
- Work with approved enterprise analytic tool sets. (SAS, SQL)
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Web and Database Analyst (Part-Time/Temporary) must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; Focus in education, measurement, psychology, social science, public policy, economics, or a related field requiring quantitative coursework, is preferred.
Experience Required:
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a relevant field and a role requiring data analysis skills is required
- One or more years of experience as a business analyst or systems analyst preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use or learn SAS required
- Advanced experience with Excel and gSuite applications
- Exceptional organizational, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and data quality assurance
- Ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment, respond immediately to multiple constituencies and meet established deadlines
- Able to lead independently under general guidance and as part of a team
Conditions of Employment
As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:
- Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency- Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
- Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19- Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. “Up-to-date” on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters. Unvaccinated staff with an approved exemption must submit to weekly testing.
