Your Purpose:

As a Web Developer at Ocean State Job Lot, you will be responsible for maintaining corporate and affiliate website properties according to company objectives.  This will require working closely with Planning & Analytics and Marketing team members to develop and publish website updates in support of all corporate marketing campaigns. Your role is also responsible for supporting technical aspects of corporate marketing email platform.  Along with strong technical skills, this role requires strong written and oral communication skills, ability to troubleshoot quickly, and exceptional time management capabilities to meet weekly/daily demands of digital media.

Why we need you:

• To independently work on developing code in support of company marketing initiatives
• Day to day monitoring, troubleshooting and administration of OSJL public website along with affiliate website domains
• Responsible for occasional after hours maintenance for the website and marketing email program working with outside vendors
• Develop digital marketing assets (e.x. website landing page) which may require working outside working hours to meet urgent deadlines.
• Implementation of content and graphical updates to website domains  
• Coordination with various company resources for planning and setup of website releases, including new web pages, forms, and other digital assets
• Build strong competency in website hosting platform and development standards
• Development of website templates, widgets, and other components as needed
• Manage sign off process from marketing and other stakeholders on website content/graphical updates
• Manage website QA process and weekly deployment schedule
• Understand SEO best practices and ensure website properties are optimized
• Support website analytics
• Create website tagging for digital analytics
• Setup and support website A/B testing driven by marketing for customer facing updates
• Create website URLs and UTM codes for digital assets that drive to the website
• Support technical aspects of Marketing email platform including data imports, email list management, and other technical platform issues as needed.
• Perform the above duties under minimal supervision

• Must have a strong understanding of Web User Interface (UI), cross-browser
• Bachelor’s degree  focused on web development (HTML, CSS, JS), computer science, and/or IT.
• Candidate must have a strong understanding of Web User Interface (UI), cross-browser compatibility, Security principles,  general web functions and standards best practices.
• Experience with Google Analytics and Content Management Systems
• Experience with database design, integrity, and maintenance

Work Environment:

• Primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, and frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
