About the Job
Shields experienced growth in the fourth quarter of 2023 and we have an immediate opportunity for Multiple CNC Mill Machinists on the weekend shift to create our grave shift. These team members will carry out a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
We are putting together a team to run 24/7 due to the growth of the business.
Schedule for this overnight weekend shift: Fri-Sun 6pm - 6:30am, and we offer a 30% shift differential for the Weekend Grave Shift

CNC Mill Machinist (Levels 1-3) - CNC Mill Machinist
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Starts and observes machine operation
- Calculates and set controls to regulate machining factors
- Process offset changes unassisted
- Check parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
- Verify conformance of completed work
- Working on Vertical Mills, Haas and Brother Machines...multiple machines at a time.
Requirements:
- Extensive machine shop/metal working skills
- Possesses the ability to work with decimals
- Comfortable working with close tolerances (thousandths)
- Ability to set up your own jobs and run first part
- Ability to adjust programs if required
