RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily welder and hoist pre-operational safety checks.
Use a walkie lift truck and hand pallet lift truck to move weld parts or fixtures in the work area
Pre and Post Check all parts for defects.
Change welding wire and do minor weld gun repair.
Verify welds to print using weld gauges.
Use a dual wire (GMAW, Gas, Metal, Arc, Welding- Pulse and FCAW Flux, Core, Arc Welding) electric arc welding process to weld parts to print specifications.
Set up and adjust welder and fixtures to print specifications.
Set up, adjust, and operate an electric stud welder.
Use hand grinders to repair welds, fit parts as needed, and grind welds flush when calling out on the print.
Use hand welder to tack and weld small parts.
Use a carbon air arc gouging and cutting process for rework.
Use a hand welder either separately or simultaneously with the robot welder as required.
Set- up, adjust, and operate the Lincoln as well as other different types of robot weld stations to weld parts per print specifications.
Enter programs correctly in robot when running different sizes and models of masts.
May create and modify programs as required.
Train and assist new operators.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).
Comply with all applicable occupational Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, as well as Crown’s safety rules and regulations for each task performed
To prevent the risk of injury, report unsafe conditions and do not perform unsafe acts.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Per 8 hr
shift (stand 5 hrs
walk 3 hrs.) frequently (push/pull, bend, and reach above shoulder level), occasionally (squat, twist, work above chest level, climb ladders, reach below knee level, torque, kneel, balance, work with arms outstretched), and occasionally climb to step into lift trucks
Frequently use hoist when loading and unloading masts in robot
Frequently lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 50 lbs.)
Must be able to see, do simple and firm grasping with both hands, and use foot to operate foot pedals
Occasionally work with vibratory tools
Must be able to work in a noisy environment that includes exposure to heat, weld dust, weld fumes, weld flash, weld smoke, hot parts, electromagnetic radiation, vibrations, dust, shavings, grease, battery acid, solvents oil, and occasional paint fumes
Must be able to safely operate walkie, hand pallet, and sit down and stand-up lift trucks and safely work in areas of lift truck traffic
Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as welders, carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Read and understand drawings, Production Order Travelers, and weld symbols, read blueprints, basic math (including conversions between millimeters and inches, fractions, and decimals), may need knowledge of CNC programming, reason and analyze
Must be able to listen and understand verbal or written instructions
Moderate levels of social interaction
High school diploma or equivalent is required
May require a valid driver’s license
Work according to detailed, daily, or standardized instructions and occasionally gather/analyze information to determine the best course of action, using independent judgement to devise work methods according to general directives policies, and existing procedures
Must be able to multi-task
Welding experience preferred.

Robot welder, Walkie lift truck, hand pallet truck, sit down and stand-up lift trucks, Wire welder, hand grinders, air arc, cutting torch, stud gun, bridge cranes, overhead crane, hoist, weld jacket, weld helmet, weld gloves, tape measure, computer terminal, hammer, Allen wrench, chisel, clamps, miscellaneous hand tools, face shield, ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, and any other personal protective equipment as needed.
