WELDER/FITTER 3rd Shift - $2,000 HIRING BONUS
3rd Shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00pm - 6:00am
Pay Range: $20-26 based on experience and skills.
Shift Differential: $2/hour
OVERALL SUMMARY
Under direct supervision - Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Proficient in assigned welding techniques such as MIG welding
- Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
- Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
- Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Welding equipment maintenance
- Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Regular Attendance and Punctuality
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Individual must possess these knowledge’s, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Successful completion of an internal welding test, and the ability to achieve certification
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
- Good math and measurement skills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Able to bend, reach, push, pull and put parts into positions for welding.
- Able to lift 50-lbs. from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- One year experience in various forms of welding, preferably in a job shop environment

- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs frequently throughout the day, depending on work related circumstances.
- Must be able to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level and be able to lift from lying position on back overhead. Must be able to move objects/parts/tools and equipment from one area to another and one level to another.
- This position includes the following physical demands:
- Extending and pulling the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction while working with various tools as mentioned before.
- Seizing, holding, rasping, turning, pulling, or otherwise working with hands and arms.
- Using arms in such a way as pulling of tools, wrenches, parts, and equipment to complete the job.
- Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb up and down trucks, steps, and ladders safety.
