Welder Fitter - Workforce Walker Personnel LLC

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder-Fitter to join manufacture in Montgomery, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fitting components for heavy machinery, ensuring high-quality assembly and structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding and fitting requirements.
• Layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Tack-weld or weld components or assemblies using welding equipment (Mig Welding)
• Inspect grooves, angles, or gaps, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces, using grinder, file, or scraper
• Welds components in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions
• Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts using welding equipment
• Ignites torch and adjusts valve, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
• Analyzes engineering drawings, and specs to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
• Capable of handling the normal day-to-day stress of the job and get along reasonably well with co-workers.
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor

 This is a Try and Hite placement and pay range is $17 - $20 per hour based on experience.

• Proven experience as a Welder-Fitter in manufacturing or a related field.
• Ability to read a Tape Measure and micrometer
• Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) and able to operate welding machinery.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and symbols.
• Knowledge of metal properties and welding standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

 Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy objects, climbing and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
