About the Job
We are looking for an experienced welder with leadership skills to perform and oversee welding operations using TIG, MIG, Stick, heliarc, and subarc techniques on carbon steel and stainless steel alloys for our client in Southeast Houston!

Responsibilities:
Lead, coordinate, and supervise welding projects on job sites and in the shop to ensure timely completion and high-quality workmanship.
Oversee daily operations and assign tasks to welders, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
Conduct safety checks and enforce safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
Train, mentor, and evaluate welding team members to improve skills, productivity, and adherence to welding standards.
Manage and maintain inventory of welding materials, equipment, and consumables to prevent project delays.
Collaborate with project managers to plan, schedule, and optimize welding tasks according to project timelines and specifications.
Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products by interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Perform welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel components using STICK (SMAW), TIG (GTAW), MIG, and sub-arc processes.
Fit-up ANSI flanges to pipe, forged flanges to shells, and profile nozzles as required.
Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, flame-cutting torches, grinders, and other welding and fitting tools safely.
Conduct inspections and quality tests to evaluate welds for quality, tolerance, and conformity to standards.
Review fit-ups and completed welds of team members to ensure quality and accuracy on heat exchangers.
Enforce shop quality practices, procedures, and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to resolve issues and enhance workflow.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a foreman role and 5-10 years of experience in welding/metal fabrication with heat exchangers.
Proven experience in a fab shop, manufacturing, or related field, with the ability to manage welding operations and personnel.
Strong understanding of welding techniques, safety protocols, and quality inspection standards.
Proficient in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and calculating material measurements.
Ability to use various welding, grinding, and fitting tools, including cranes and rigging equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage a team of welders.
Ability to handle physical workload, lift up to 60 lbs, and work various shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and rotating shifts.
