Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm
Summary of Job Duties: At Community LIFE, our Registered Dietitian is responsible for individual nutrition assessment and care planning for older adults (age 55+) in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). This position includes individual and group education and counseling, and oversight of the health and safety aspects of food service provided at the Community LIFE adult day center. The Registered Dietitian must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, plan care for and provide service to frail elders according to assigned responsibilities and Community LIFE standards.
Required Education: Graduate/Masters degree OR Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nutrition or dietetics
Required Experience: One year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist working with the frail elderly population either in a hospital or nursing home setting. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
Required Certifications and Licensure: Current Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) registration and PA licensure. Valid PA Drivers License.
Required Skills:
- General clinical knowledge plus knowledge of nutritional supplements, diabetes education, and renal diets.
- Knowledge of principles of counseling and education.
- Sufficient understanding of windows-based computer applications to learn and use the electronic medical record and organize ones schedule and required reports
