The State of Wisconsin UW -Madison Office of Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) is looking for a Systems Analyst III
Top Skills (3) & Years of Experience:
- 8+ years of professional experience as a technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Consultant, gathering requirements, performing gap/fit analysis, and writing user stories.
- 3+ Years experience working with data and reporting users to interpret needs, making system recommendations, and providing user support either through a project or managing a production backlog,
- Performing analysis in analytics and data management environments
- Writing complex SQL or Python for data and system analysis and test scripts, and guiding users through testing
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in higher education, using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Workday implementation experience, Experience with data migration or transformations, including source system data mapping, translations, and cleansing
- Experience performing system, quality, and/or smoke testing

Duration: 6/30/25 with the possibility of extension.
Onsite or Remote: Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents or willing to relocate. This position can work 100% remote (within the state of WI).

*This position will be evaluated every 3 months to determine the continuation throughout the
project.

Team Overview
On July 1, 2025, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Workday will be deployed
across the UW–Madison campus and UW system, effectively replacing HR and finance
PeopleSoft systems. As a result, several downstream data warehouses, enterprise reporting
tools, and ancillary systems need to be retrofit to accommodate this change. The Office of Data,
Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) needs to analyze its existing systems for
related impacts and make reasonable accommodations. These new solutions must be in place
in alignment with the capabilities and timeline of the new Workday implementation.
