You will be taking a 20 strip exam to demonstrate that competency and must get an 80% on the test and correctly identify our 4 lethal rhythms (Asystole, V-Tach, V-fib, and 3rd Degree AV Block)
Attached-(Uploaded to our existing documents) is a study guide and practice test similar to what you will take on Monday.

Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds). If there are any questions, please refer to earlier communication from UWHC to your agency. ****

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team on the Pediatric Intensive Care unit.
- Nurses on this 21-bed unit care for children from newborn to adult.
- PICU nurses provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.
Minimum Requirements:
Facility Requirement:
- Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile: resume, *** portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed).
Experience:
- Pediatric ICU experience required.
- Solid experience in PICU, and some CV ICU or cardiac step down or general cardiac experience required.
- Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 or 2 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
Licensure and Certification:
- Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state.
- BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
- PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association
Education:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
References
- Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).
Telemetry
- Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 2-3 weeks prior to start date.
Floating
- Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
