Windows Systems Engineer

Job Requirements
· 5+ years Windows Systems experience
· Microsoft Windows Server and Windows current desktop operating system knowledge
· Proficient with management of Exchange 2010 or later, deployment of Office 365 is a plus
· Experienced in management of Active Directory, including global policies
· Experience managing and scheduling enterprise backups
· Experience managing servers with VMWare
· Citrix administration experience is a plus
· SCCM management and PowerShell skills are a plus
· Knowledge on hardening systems and applications to meet regulatory and security requirements
· Basic Networking knowledge (switch, router, VPN, WAN etc.)
· Experience using and managing Distributed File Systems
· Experience with administration of servers in the cloud is a plus
· Network based mechanical skills for assembly and maintenance of servers and other network equipment
· Electrical knowledge & skills including both power and data wiring
· Telecommunications knowledge for integration with data circuits
· Knowledge of data backup software and recovery methods
· Knowledge on how to implement servers, including security hardening, IP sub-netting, etc.
· Knowledge of printers, PC's, and other user based computer hardware, software, and operating systems
· Excellent communication and documentation skills required
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the design, documentation, and implementation of all system changes affecting delivery of IT services
· Provide assistance and guidance to other Engineering and IT Support staff as needed
· Maintain Windows Server and corresponding systems 24 X 7
· Maintain and install network hardware and software, including , servers (primarily Windows), Citrix operating software, and VMWare operating software
· Provide root cause analysis and review IT metrics to maintain quality control
· Perform and manage backups of all network data
· Restore data to servers and user directories as needed
· Assure proper testing of all new servers, systems, patches, upgrades, etc. on test network environment prior to move to a live production status
· Harden and maintain security on servers and supporting technologies
· Maintain complete server/equipment/software change documentation and ensure management authorization is obtained prior to any changes to network configurations, hardware, software, or operating systems by the Engineering staff
· Provide direct user computer assistance when directed by supervisor
· Continue to obtain training and knowledge on an ongoing basis and share information with other engineering staff
· Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of our disaster recover procedures, locations, vendor support, and participate at least annually in a disaster recovery test to the degree assigned by the group supervisor
· Engineers are required to maintain industry proficiency skills through self improvement process, outside of their daily engineering responsibilities. This includes non-company sponsored learning through reading, courses, seminars, etc. in order to maintain current professional skills and certifications.
· Provide week-end after-hours support on a rotational basis with other engineers
· Assist with IT Support Help Desk technical questions, research, training, and direct user assistance as directed by the group manager
· Help with hardware / software repairs and troubleshooting on workstations as directed by the group supervisor
· Other duties as assigned
