Position is currently remote
IT Server Operations Windows and Server Virtualization team has an immediateneed to remediate Windows server vulnerabilities, re-architect the DFS(Distributed File Services), deploy hardened Windows 2016 servers, performcleanup of Active Directory and re-architect the current implementation ofGroup Policies.
Work to provide direct support and primary responsibility for State Fund\'sActive Directory and Windows Operating system environments throughout all StateFund locations. These environments contain all State Fund\'smission-critical, business-critical and general purpose applications.
Provide Tier 3 support and lead troubleshooting or other efforts to quicklyidentify, resolve and verify all system functionality, in order to maximizeuptime and minimize downtime. Scripting in various languages is requiredto extract information, provide information to dependent systems and automatetasks. Proactive measures and action are expected at all times, providinga 24x7 coverage for State Fund\'s mission-critical applications.
Responsible for high level architectural design and planning with a vision of 3to 5 years into the future. They will also be responsible for ensuringongoing performance and the security of all Active Directory and Windowsinfrastructure.
- Working with the Unit Manager, provide Senior Level Windows Server setup, administration, configurations, and automated implementations.
- Working with the Unit Manager, assist in planning, design, implementation, and operation of Windows and Virtual infrastructure projects and participate in the specification of business requirements and implementation plans.Assist in supporting State Funds Microsoft Windows Server environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
- Help support State Funds VMWare Virtualization environments services and resources for optimal efficiency, functionality, security and management.
- Responsibility will include but not limited to re-architecturing the existing Microsoft DFS, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP infrastructure.
- Will be assisting with server migrations between HP infrastructure, Flexpod and Physical to Virtual conversions
- Provide operational support and experience with managing the virtualized infrastructures.
- Participate in capacity planning and Disaster Recovery
- Help define, improve promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices
- Assist and support all development and troubleshoot complex application issues
- Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to other team resources and to customers
- Provide infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, system troubleshooting, performance engineering, and optimization and maintenance strategy.
Technical Knowledge AND Skills:
- 7%2B years related system engineering/Infrastructure and customer support experience.
- Extensive experience related to security in Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016
- 5%2B years experience in enterprise corporate infrastructure design, implementation and troubleshooting,
- 5%2B years with both Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016.
- 5%2B years experience with VMWare 5.x and 6.x
- 5%2B years experience with Active Directory
- 5%2B years supporting Datacenter co-located equipment.
- Extensive experience in support
- Experience with knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix Operating systems
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, networking and security concepts
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to apply them during business impacting incidents.
- Capable of mentor others and lead by example.
- Project Management, Problem Solving, People Management.
- Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
- Extensive knowledge and experience in addressing and remediating Windows server and VMware vulnerabilities.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Server Hardening methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of the use of SCCM to deploy and install Microsoft Security updates
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, IT, or similar disciplines).
- Microsoft Server Security Certification.
