About the Job
The Wire and Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and helping manage the bank’s retail digital banking and payment systems as part of a team. Additionally, this role handles the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing wire transfers and performs reconciliations across various accounts and ledgers.
Responsibilities:
Retail Digital Banking
- Act as a subject matter expert for digital banking services, including online banking and digital payment solutions such as Bill Pay, Zelle, and Instant Payments, including RTP and FedNow.
- Work closely with the bank’s service providers, primarily Fiserv, to resolve issues efficiently and effectively; track and manage open cases to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide support and guidance to internal clients on the usage, features, and benefits of digital banking solutions.
- Assist with projects associated with digital services, including the implementation of new solutions and clean-up efforts to maintain optimal system functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to digital banking services, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
- Review Fiserv bulletins and stay informed of system updates and changes to ensure compliance and up-to-date service delivery.
- Manage fraud situations, including shutting down services and securing accounts.
Wire Processing
- Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers for clients and bank through Payments Exchange, Fedline, or FIRE, adhering strictly to Wire Transfer Policies and Procedures.
- Monitor messages received from Correspondent Banks throughout the day and perform necessary processing activities.
- Maintain certain correspondent account balances as predetermined.
- Work collaboratively to ensure all entries to correspondent accounts are managed promptly to prevent extended outstanding items.
Reconcilement of Accounts
- Balance Miscellaneous General Ledger Accounts on a daily basis.
- Balance application totals (DDA, SAV, COD) to General Ledger totals for balances and accrued interest to ensure accuracy of all accounts.
- Balance correspondent bank and internal accounts regularly to ensure correct processing and clearing of items. Research any outstanding items.
Quality Client Service
- Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders including clients, prospects, and vendors.
- Address and resolve issues and concerns through research and problem-solving.
- Propose solutions to enhance client service, productivity, and efficiency.
- Stay updated on bank products and services, suggesting relevant ones to clients.
- Direct clients to the right bank personnel as needed and use bank technology for tracking sales and referrals.
- Engage actively in bank-wide promotions and departmental product/service campaigns.
- Ensure accurate and efficient data entry.
Other Responsibilities:
- Update the Viewpoint database regularly to facilitate accurate report generation.
- Safeguard accurate and timely data downloads for Prime and BIM systems.
- Manage Back Counter Check Imaging access as the primary administrator.
- Coordinate with Fiserv Support to troubleshoot and resolve system or program issues.
- Maintain the integrity of document, check imaging, and cold storage systems.
- Update and manage storage and retention protocols.
- Assist in keeping departmental procedure manuals current.
- Collaborate with the team, being flexible to work extended hours or take on extra duties as required.
- Engage in both internal and external training programs.
- Participate in community and bank-related activities.
- Undertake any other relevant duties or assignments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
- Complete all annual bank security and compliance training.
- Adhere to Bank Security guidelines as required for this position.
- Always maintain confidentiality of client information
- Stay current on all compliance regulations.
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in operations or a related role, ideally within a financial institution. Familiarity with consumer digital services and wire transfers is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities; exercises independent judgment in decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on active listening and clear verbal communication.
- Proficient in accounting and math, adept at precise financial calculations.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial products, services, balancing, and processing within the bank.
- Detail-oriented; can work efficiently and independently with accuracy.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and maintain composure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, adaptable to new software, with solid typing skills.
- Dedicated to achieving departmental goals, willing to work extra hours and attend necessary training.
- Upholds the highest standard of confidentiality, especially with client information.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Consistently represents the organization in a professional and positive manner.
This is a full time role between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Flexibility in scheduling may be needed on occasion.
