About the Job
Rockland Trust is currently seeking a Wire Transfer Specialist I to work in the Deposit Operations Department in Plymouth.
This position will process incoming and outgoing wire transfers throughout the day and perform a variety of customer service duties including maintaining customer agreements and processing domestic collection items.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing domestic and international wire transfer transactions in accordance with established policy and procedures.
- Review wire transfer requests for accuracy and validate authorizations.
- Perform callback verification to confirm transaction details and authenticity of transactions. Process incoming wire transfers received through the Federal Reserve Bank and ensure timely credit to customer accounts.
- Monitor account/transaction activity to identify potential fraudulent wire transfer requests.
- Perform research related to wire transfer investigations as requested by customers and business units.
- Perform daily reconciliations with the Federal Reserve and other correspondent banks.
- Maintain business and consumer Wire Transfer Agreements and customer information files.
- Process domestic collection items
- Post entries and reconcile general ledger accounts associated with wire transfer and foreign exchange fees
- Ensure Compliance regulations are being met.
- Communicate both written and verbally with all levels of management, commercial and retail customers, branches, vendors, Federal Reserve and other corresponding banks.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be a detailed-oriented individual with strong communication/interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and show initiative in new learning opportunities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Learn to work with updated technology (i.e. Online Banking etc).
- Must have a strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks on a continued basis.
- Experience with Digital Products.
- Experience within the financial services industry, preferably in banking.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Banking/wire knowledge is a preferred.
