Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Workday Payroll Specialist in our Midtown Atlanta headquarters to assist the Human Resources. This role will report to our Human Resources Director and will work closely with other operations professionals on a variety of tasks and projects as we grow from 180 employees to 300 and beyond.
Currently payroll is run for seven states in the US (including California) as well as UK, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, India and UAE. The incumbent will hold a key supportive role supporting our US based payroll as we continue to expand our global footprint across Europe, and other potential geographic regions around the globe.
Responsibilities:

- Responsible for preparation and coordination of semi-monthly and bi-weekly US payrolls including validation of all inputs to employee payroll files.
- Data entry including, but not limited to new hires, terms, bonuses, leaves of absence, payroll calculations, and deductions.
- Process tax changes, direct deposits, loan repayments, deduction goals, retroactive adjustments, amendments, prorated payments, special pays, etc.
- Reconciles payroll-related registers and prepares reports or statements summarizing payroll-related accounts.
- Manage internal and external audit requests.
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding US payroll.
- Ensures accuracy and integrity of the employee and organizational data within Workday and electronic file repository.
- Process forgivable loans.
- Keeps informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
- Preparation of annual and quarterly tax reporting at state, federal and country level.
- Reconcile Paid Time Off Balances
- Process/track 401(k) uploads to vendor - working closely with 401(k) advisors and consultants.
- Creates standard and ad hoc queries or reports and assist HR Director with any special assignments/projects as necessary.
- Provides training to other members on the team as well as completes cross training within the payroll department for backup purposes.
- Handle year-end processes to include edits, W2's, address & SS# verification, etc.
- Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years multi-state payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of state and federal employment law
- Two (2) or more years previous experience with Workday
- Previous experience with the following:
- HR Employment Law, to include local, federal, OSHA, and COVID-19 compliance ordinances (global experience, a plus)
- Processing multi-state payroll
- Processing New Hire Paperwork (I-9, Tax Forms, etc.)
- Managing/tracking FMLA, PTO, Sick Time, etc.
- Working in a small to mid-size global professional service company is preferred
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Proficient in use of online conference tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, WebEx or Others
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and online tools/platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, critical thinking, planning and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation with highly developed time management skills
- Ability to be flexible, adaptive and problem solve independently
- Ability to manage competing priorities & multiple projects with attention to deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and communicate effectively within a team
- Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
