Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for answering and returning workers' compensation insurance phone calls
• Verifying workers' compensation coverage and obtaining authorizations for surgeries, MRI, and diagnostic testing referrals when needed
• Sending office notes to workers' compensation case managers, adjusters, and employers daily
• Responsible for noting all interactions with case managers, patients, and employers in the patient's medical file
• Coordinating causation, impairment, and IME requests/appointments
• Coordinating therapy, injection, and/or testing appointments with the adjuster/facility
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• One year of medical office insurance and workers' compensation experience is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
• Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
• Proficient in foundational computer skills, such as typing, and the ability to learn new software programs
