The Workforce Healthcare Faculty / Coordinator is a new full-time position with Workforce Solutions for the Fauquier campus. This individual will teach healthcare classes and work directly with our Healthcare Program Manager to ensure quality instruction and student completion for the Fauquier campus. This individual will also mentor other adjunct Workforce healthcare instructors.
The successful candidate is a clinical healthcare professional with an applicable healthcare certification/license and significant work experience in a medical office/clinic setting with a passion for helping others learn. The candidate will instruct Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy and PSR (Patient Service Representative) courses and other programs as needed. While teaching experience is highly beneficial, it is not required; however, students expect to learn from a seasoned professional in the field.
The typical Workforce Solutions healthcare student may be a novice, have some limited knowledge, or have years of experience in the healthcare field. The student’s goal is to complete their program of study and obtain the related credential. For some programs, students may want to seek add-on certifications to meet their professional goals. This position will work to ensure students stay engaged in class until they finish and obtain their credential.

Responsibilities of this position:
· The primary responsibility is to instruct a mandatory number of healthcare courses per year, may include a combination of day/evening/weekend classes.
· Ensure program quality across healthcare programs by providing instructional support to other healthcare instructors and assisting with student completion efforts. This includes helping students to successfully move through coursework, obtain industry credentials and licensures, and progress to the training level required to meet their professional goals.
· Support adjunct instructors with lab set up and instruction on lab equipment
· Inventory supplies for consumables to meet the needs of all healthcare classes.
· Review strengths and weaknesses of healthcare program effectiveness and provide suggestions and feedback to program manager
· Assist with recruiting and training new and existing instructors
· Participate in outreach efforts for healthcare classes which includes healthcare information sessions
· Provide feedback for future program development
· May occasionally work with employers to identify skill gaps in the workforce and make curriculum and instructional suggestions for the programs
Qualifications:
Required:
· Associates Degree or industry licensure/credential in area of expertise (i.e. Medical Assistant credential or licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse)
· Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
Preferred:
· Experience teaching/training adult learners in a healthcare related content
· Experience with online learning and using a Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas)
