Job Description

Under supervision, the Program Director Serve as the key program developer and administrator for a new NYC H+H program designed to address the critical shortage of behavioral health professionals in our nursing and nursing support workforce. The Program Director will also work closely with the Human Resources Workforce Development Team to support integration of this initiative into our system’s broader learning and development portfolio.

General Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

• Implement and expand new program model to advance our system’s ability to retain and upskill our behavioral health nursing support and nursing staff 
• Develop research and evaluation framework (e.g. focus groups, surveys, metrics) to inform program management, and evaluation, in collaboration with Workforce Development 
• Establish relationships with academic partners, including degree programs and test preparation vendors, to facilitate enrollment and graduation from post-secondary programs in collaboration with workforce development 
• Market BH Nursing Career Ladder to relevant H+H staff, with support from Workforce Development, Nursing Education and Facility leadership, including through digital communications and informational workshops on program requirements
• Oversee administration of Behavioral Health tuition assistance and monitor program budget in collaboration with workforce development  
• Conduct regular program reporting to the Office of Behavioral Health, Nursing Education, Human Resources Workforce Development, and Philanthropy 
• Oversee coordinate among NYC Health + Hospitals stakeholders involved in implementing this program at scale, such as legal, finance and human resources 
• Manage and schedule bi-weekly/monthly check in sessions with program participants to monitor progress and identify any additional support needed 
• Manage licensure exam support, test preparation for the NCLEX exam or PMHNP board certification and manage coverage of associated fees

Minimum Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public, Hospital or Business Administration, Health Care Specialization, Engineering, Social Services or a related discipline; and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design, operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or analysis; or
• A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in #1 above; and five (5) years of progressively, responsible experience relating to health care program planning, research, design, operations, evaluation and analysis, one (1) year of which must have been in supervision or planning and/or analysis; or
• A satisfactorily equivalent combination of education and experience, in which 30 graduate-level semester credits from an accredited college or university can be substituted for one year of experience. However, all applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree.

Department Preferences

• A minimum of 5-7 years post-graduate experience in a related field (e.g. public health, workforce development, education or nursing)
• Proactive and detail-oriented 
• Experience building and scaling programs from the ground up
• Experience collecting, analyzing and presenting data for internal and external stakeholders 
• Experience creating and managing budgets 
• Utilization of coaching tools to ensure participant success 
• MPA, MBA or MPH or related Master’s program required
