P O S I T I O N S U M M A R Y
The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation andtreatment with a primary goal of achieving wellness and recovery.
E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S
Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of care forpatients within scope of practice.
Provides education to patients according to their needs.
Transcribes, utilizes and implements protocols and physician orders.
Coordinates healthcare team and delegates appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel.
Other duties as assigned
E D U C A T I O N
Graduation of an accredited school of nursing required.
E X P E R I E N C E
Previous experience in a hospital preferred.
C R E D E N T I A L S
Must have a current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming and must be in goodstanding with the Board of Nursing.
Must have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain credentials throughout employment with IMH.
Must have current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and maintain credential throughout employmentwith IMH if performing circulating or recovery room for C-section, as determined by theDepartment Director.
Must have a current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and must maintain credential throughout employmentwith IMH if caring for Pediatrics.
Must have current, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. NRP certification must be maintained throughoutemployment on the Family Care Unit.
Nurses who work in Labor and Deliver must complete the Intermediate Electronic Fetalmonitoring class within the first year after completion of orientation. Labor nurses must also complete the Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring Class within three (3) years ofcompletion of labor orientation.
