About the Position: Moxtek is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Tester/Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Orem, Utah.
Job Summary: Process Engineering Technician works with the X-ray Tubes engineering team, comprised of process engineers, design and development engineers, scientists, and engineering technicians to support the development and sustainment of X-ray tubes. Technician will work directly with engineering, logistics, and production teams to incorporate new product into manufacturing and support manufacturing and production control in the continuous improvement of existing product. Technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting customer and in-line failures as well as support of production operators.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in gathering data for engineering design, manufacturing, and product support requirements.
- Comprehend test specifications and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications for testing product.
- Perform a variety of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical inspections/tests for checking all part/product characteristics using documented engineering specifications. In cases of non-conformity, define cause, troubleshoot the unit to determine problem, correct problem, and retest.
- Gather raw data and assist in processing data; communicate in meaningful forms (e.g., flow charts, Pareto charts, control charts) to capture current manufacturing yields and drive yield improvements.
- Improve processes and perform validation of the process. Provide the results of processes and tests to engineering team for evaluation.
- Evaluate current processes and designs. Identify potential improvements and evaluate both return on investment and risk associated with identified improvements.
- Use problem solving and decision making tools to analyze a situation and recommend the best course of action.
- Communicate with engineers non-conformity and product assembly issues.
- Responsible for the testing and root cause determination of in-line failures and RMAs.
- Monitor adherence of production to policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- A.S. in engineering technology field or science related discipline (Equivalent work related experience acceptable.)
- 1+ years of experience in micro-manufacturing environment (X-ray tube manufacturing preferred)
- Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing training preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word
