Reports to: Fleet Equipment Manager
Overview: Coordinates movement of materials within the shop yard. Checks in and receives units in the yard.
Takes photographs of units ready to ship and works with transportation to prepare for shipping.
Essential Duties: (Approximate % Time Spent)
- Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment in yard area. (~10%)
- Check in units arriving in yard and process initial receiving paperwork. (~20%)
- Provide direction to heavy equipment operators to load, unload and transfer equipment in a safe and timely manner. (~20%)
- Take photographs of units ready to ship. (~10%)
- Work with the transportation department to load equipment for transportation and to ensure compliance with shipping procedures. (~20%)
- Monitor the integrity (inspect and note repair and maintenance needed) of all trucks, trailers and forklifts assigned to yard and to request routine repairs and maintenance of assigned equipment. (~10%)
- Fills in for Equipment Operator as needed. (~10%)

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to:
- Perform all essential duties.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills and interact effectively with all customer and third party trucking companies.
- Demonstrate basic computer and picture taking proficiency.
- Operate facility equipment (forklifts and man-lift).
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of equipment being operated and being moved.
- Knowledge of safe material handling processes.
- Knowledge of inventory and material control processes.
Minimum Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Typically at least some experience with material handling in a similar environment.
Leadership:
- May serve as a resource to and train team members to improve skill, safety and productivity.

- Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed.
- Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role.
- Constantly required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit while driving material handling equipment, and to stand and walk with good balance.
- Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.
- Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat.
- Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 40 pounds with one hand.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to inclement weather and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
