POSITION SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Know and comply with all Department of Public Welfare Child Care regulations, Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) regulations, and all City Health Department inspection regulations/policies
- Complete all required components of the CACFP and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) requirements
- Plan menus
- Maintain daily menu forms
- Manage meal count forms
- Prepare meals (breakfast, lunch, snack) according to planned menus
- Clean kitchen and equipment/appliances daily; practice proper hand washing procedures
- Order food for Youth Development feeding sites and purchase other food items at the grocery store or food bank
- Manage the purchase of food within budgeted guidelines
- Maintain a sanitary kitchen with a minimum of a 90% score with the Department of Health
- Distribute food accordingly for various sites/locations; arrange for off-site delivery
- Know fire and emergency procedures; be prepared in an emergency situation
- Know and follow established center policies and procedures
- Maintain a positive attitude toward children, their families, and staff
- Provide and prepare meals for other YMCA functions within the meal service policy as needed
- Attend all DPW, City Health, CACFP, SFSP, and YMCA required training
- Attend staff meetings and all other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or general educational development certificate (GED)
- A minimum of 1year food preparation experience
- Experience working with a diverse population
