Job Summary:
IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, is excited to announce its search for a Youth Development Program (YDP) Director. YDP operates by empowering and supporting young people (14 -18 yrs) by addressing systemic issues that will enable them to experience social and economic mobility. YDP is a 2016 nationally awarded program by former First Lady Michelle Obama with a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award. Our program provides the expectations and the cultural responsive environment to allow youth access better opportunities and improve their quality of life. The Director is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily programmatic operations, produce high caliber creative youth development programming that supports 21st century skills in youth through academic achievement, job readiness, arts, civic engagement, and financial empowerment. The Director reports to the Chief Program Officer, and supervises a team of five, compromised by four coordinators and one manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management & Operations
- Supervises Youth Development Program Staff working closely to support student retention, ensuring that all students receive consistent ongoing 1:1 academic and case management support services.
- Oversees all aspects of programming including planning, budget, outreach, participant enrollment workshop/class content, student orientation, curriculum review, field trips, celebrations, etc.
- Executes annual program outcomes for Academic achievement; Arts & Culture; College, Financial Empowerment; and Civic Engagement.
- Collaborates with other IBA Program Directors and other members of IBA management to ensure the effective coordination of program schedules and related events for youth and families.
- Maximizes the potential of youth advocacy by contributing to advocacy strategies.
- Works and collaborates with IBA marketing on communications, program marketing - outreach, flyers, PR, advertising etc. - to increase visibility and program participation.
- Oversees and maintains monthly and annual data regarding client participation, referrals, length of stays in program, outputs, outcomes, etc
Program Strategy:
- In collaboration with the Chief Program Officer, develops work plans ,objectives and targets for the program based on IBA's mission, Points of Accountability and 5 Year Strategic Plan.
- Collaborates with other IBA Programs as required to grow and develop the Youth Program.
- Ensures that IBA remains on the cutting edge of its field and benefits from relevant external knowledge within the field of Youth Development.
Financial Monitoring of Programs:
- Ensures program expenses do not exceed the budget.
- Helps ensure program fundraising goals are achieved.
- Attends trainings, forums and conferences for professional growth and to meet the requirements of funding sources. Also attend networking and fundraising opportunities, relevant external meetings representing YDP and IBA, as needed.
Other Duties
- Participates fully in the organization's annual events such as Three Kings Day, Membership Drive, Board of Election, Festival Betances, annual meeting and other community events.
- Carries out additional duties as directed or as needed to ensure IBA maintains its effectiveness.
GENERAL COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Instructional Design, Project Management, Non-Profit Management or related field preferred
- Five years of experience in an administrative or management capacity in youth services, family support or K-12 educational settings, or college work preferred.
- Three+ Supervisory experience required.
- Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach to youth development and creating collaboration among partner organizations in youth development.
- Experience with and/or understanding of the application of information technology and arts education in project-based learning programs for children/youth in nonprofit or K-12 settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with children/youth development models and a proven record of working with high risk and proven risk youth.
- Must maintain a current First Aid Training Certification and CPR Certification.
- Experience in partnership management and development.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Recognizes and respects individual differences and supports a culturally diverse workgroup.
- Strong administrative, organizational skills and attentive to details.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and within deadlines.
- Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectives.

- Experience with program evaluation, data collection and analysis.
- High degree of computer literacy with excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and Salesforce, required.
- Good moral character, mature judgment and a strong sense of responsibility and dedication.
- Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to drive complex, multifaceted projects forward to deliver results on time; advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to multi-task and handle a high pressure environment with timeline pressures.

- Able to work flexible schedule.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
IBA is proud to offer very competitive annual wage of $90,000-95,000, commensurate with experience, and a robust benefit plan that includes an 80/20 premium cost share for comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance; a generous HRA provided by the company ($9,450 or $18,900 based on single and family coverage) and other built in supports that significantly reduces or eliminates out of pocket medical expenses. We offer a 403b plan with annual employer contribution, and generous paid time off.
