POSITION SUMMARY:
The Success Coach (Youth Development) at Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida plays a vital role in empowering youth aged 6-18 through individual and group coaching sessions. This position focuses on fostering academic success, building self-esteem, and developing essential life skills while implementing engaging programs aligned with the organization's mission. The role requires experience in youth development, strong coaching and mentoring skills, and the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds. The Success Coach collaborates with program staff, maintains accurate records, and contributes to a positive work environment while demonstrating key competencies such as effective communication, driving engagement, and valuing differences.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Youth Coaching and Support
- Provide individual and group coaching sessions to members aged 6-18, focusing on:
- Goal setting and achievement
- Academic success strategies
- Positive self-esteem and confidence building
- Conflict resolution and communication skills
- Healthy decision-making and life skills
- Social and emotional well-being
- Design and implement engaging coaching programs that are aligned with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida's mission and curriculum standards.
- Maintain accurate records of member progress and coaching activities.
- Collaborate with program staff to identify and address member needs.
- Respond to members experiencing challenges and make appropriate referrals to service providers when necessary.
Program Support and Development
- Participate in the organization and maintenance of program materials.
- Assist in coordinating professional development components of youth programs.
- Support the recruitment and selection process for youth programs, including participating in information sessions.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Achieved or actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in human services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related youth development field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development, life coaching, or a related field.
- Life coaching certificate preferred.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Ability to build rapport and connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for empowering youth and promoting their well-being.
- Availability during late afternoons/early evenings to accommodate after-school schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with youth aged 6-18 in diverse settings.
- Proficiency in using workplace technology, including email, Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, and other relevant software applications.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Relationships
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
- External: Maintains contact with members, families, alumni, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, other Clubs, media contacts, vendors, consultants, organizations, and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve problems.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle.
- Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere.
- Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings to support club activities and events.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, and reaching.
- Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently. Requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods (8+ hours), including performing tasks that involve repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills
- Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, family members, and other staff.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
