Job Summary
The Youth Services Clinician is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of clinical services (to include intake assessments, development of treatment plans, individual, group and family therapy, and case management) to severely emotionally disturbed un'ina and their families in the Youth Services program. The Youth Services Clinician provides clinical supervision to Case Managers, overseeing the provision and coordination of rehabilitative services to un'ina assigned to the program, and primarily works within the school and community settings.
Essential Functions
Administrative
- Assists in providing professional development to program staff.
- Work collaboratively in a team setting and with co-workers, outside professionals and outside area agencies.
- Responsible for maintaining collaborative, professional, respectful and effective working relationships with staff, un'inas and community professionals/agencies, including school personnel.
- Supports the Youth Services Program Manager in program development.
- Maintains timely and accurate records of program related information.
- Maintains productivity standards established through program expectations.
- Attend all program and KIT staff meetings and trainings.
Clinical
- Provides regular direct clinical supervision to Youth Services Case Managers and Individual Skill Providers.
- Assume clinical responsibility for un'inas assigned to the program.
- Conduct behavioral health and integrated assessments for un'ina referred to the program.
- Develop, implement, and maintain un'ina treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients in the program.
- Provide case management as needed to assist un'inas and their families in meeting their needs.
- Facilitate and/or participate in staffing and other treatment team meetings.
- Ensure timely documentation and requests for Service Authorizations.
- Maintain timely and accurate records of un'ina related information.
- Provide therapeutic consultation services to other KIT programs as directed and approved by the supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations (including 42 CFR part 2 as applicable) as well as KIT policies and procedures.
- Kenaitze Indian Tribe licensed and certified personnel will be held accountable for providing services in accordance with relevant external or internal requirements and education, such as, legislation governing practice; licensure, registration, and certification requirements; professional degrees; professional training to maintain established competency levels; on-the-job training requirements of the program; and professional standards of practice.

Qualifications
Education
- Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field required.
Experience
- Experience providing direct services and/or education to children and/or families required.
- One (1) year post-master's experience providing behavioral health services including experience with youth and families.
- One (1) year experience in a supervisory role required.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian people preferred.
License/Certification
- Professional licensure (i.e. LCSW or LPC) in Alaska or eligible for licensure preferred.
- Valid Alaska driver license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy.
Special Skills
- Knowledge of empirically valid theoretical treatment approach modalities required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2 regulations required.
- Demonstrate willingness to work with clients in various settings (i.e. clinic, school, home, and community).
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work with children of all ages and genders.
- Ability and willingness to provide community education, parenting classes, outreach, etc...
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with community agencies.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate and advocate effectively with other professionals on behalf of clients.
- Must maintain knowledge of services and resources within KIT and the community.
- Must demonstrate adherence to appropriate professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Demonstrate proactive, positive problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate positive professional leadership behaviors; including direct communication and effective conflict resolution skills.
- Must be able and willing to work in team and independent settings.
- Good written and oral communication required.
- Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and able to type minimum 25 wpm.
- Ability to lift program materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Must be flexible and willing to work varied hours as needed based on the need of un'inas and the program.
- Must pass State-required background check and pre-hire drug screen.
