As the Social Worker you will play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating clients to create and execute individualized treatment plans. This position requires fostering strong relationships with community members and service providers to enhance client support. You will be responsible for managing crisis situations using effective communication and de-escalation strategies as needed, while also coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
ABOUT THE WELCOMING CENTER
The Welcoming Center is a nurturing, home-like receiving facility dedicated to supporting children and youth in Santa Clara County who face the challenges of placement disruption. Our multi-disciplinary team offers safety, care, comfort, and therapeutic support around the clock, ensuring that young people receive the immediate attention they need, 24/7. We serve young individuals between the ages of 0-17 who have recently been removed from their homes, are returning after an elopement, or have experienced a sudden loss of placement. Upon arrival, children and youth are greeted by empathetic and well-trained therapists and counselors. These professionals create a calm and stable environment, carefully assessing each individual's unique needs while working to secure appropriate placement.

Responsibilities
- Complete assessment and evaluation process of clients in order to develop and implement the care plan
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers, as needed
- Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as needed
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams for the purpose of care planning and support
- Collaborate with agency staff, caregivers, other professionals and implement individual client care plans and behavioral programs
- Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate
- Chart mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain availability for crisis intervention services, such as on-call rotation
- Participate in individual and/or group supervision
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Master’s degree in social work/psychology/counseling
- Registered with California BBS: ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work some evenings and weekend hours as needed
- Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination
PREFERRED
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- Experience working with youth and families
Schedule
- Full-time; 40hrs/week
- Wednesday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm & Saturday 7am - 7pm (37.5hrs/week)
- Individual & group clinical supervision scheduled separately from scheduled shift with supervisor (2.5hrs/week)
Benefits
- Starting at $84,872 - $98,872 per year, commensurate with experience
- Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
